In Mark 2:25 Jesus appeals to what King David did. Why would Jesus do that? David was Israel’s king!! Who was Jesus to be appealing to what David did as justification for what He was doing?!! It’s obvious who Jesus thought himself to be. Not just some pithy cynic! Jesus believed himself to be the chosen King of Israel in fulfillment of the davidic covenant.
